Hi All, I'm wondering if someone would know why a Civil War Veteran in the early 1900's, ( to 1916 ) would have gone to a Virginia Veterans Home and not to one closer to home, NYC. Would it have been because there were so few? Or maybe by choice. Thanks for any help. Carly
