My Great Great Great Grandfather Ira Hamilton was in Capt. Joseph Bencraft's Comapany of Militia, State of New York war of 1812 He enlisted July 1, 1812. I only have and Index record of where he put in a claim for equipment while living in Freehold Penn. Does anyone know where Ira may have enlisted in New York? I am tring to locate a military record that may show more on his enlistment and maybe who his parents were. I have also been having trouble with email so I hope this goes through okay.
