    3. If your ancestor served in the NY Militia, nearly all of the service records were destroyed in a 1911 fire. The NY State Archives will search for bounty land files, however. For a summary of their holdings for all wars and for ordering information, see this site: http://www.sara.nysed.gov/holding/fact/mil-fact.htm -----Original Message----- From: Sue Wilson [mailto:sew@gate.net] Sent: Wednesday, March 15, 2000 5:51 PM To: NY-Military-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NY-Mil] Rev. War records/NY Hello listers, Wondering if anyone know where I can obtain the records of my gx5 grandfather's Rev. War record, regarding land given to him for his services. I had checked with NARA, and there was no record there... Would anyone have the address as to where I write for this? Also, the cost, and do I use the NARA 80 form? Many thanks, SueW sew@gate.net
