My ancestor, Chester Andrus/Andrews enlisted in Buffalo, NY (another paper says Brutus(?), Cayuga Co.) on Aug. 29, 1814. He served in the NY Militia in Capt. Alexander Price's Company, Lt. Col. Hopkins Regiment, Gen. Peter B. Porter's Brigade. He was present at the Battle of Fort Erie and was detailed on guard at the time of the battle. He was honorably discharged in Batavia, NY and received two land Warrants; one for 40 acres and one for 120 acres in Erie Co., NY. I am interested in learning more about Capt. Price's Company during the War of 1812. Does anyone have any knowledge of it? Thanks, Alison
