I borrowed a copy of this text (published in 1980 by the University of Chicago Press) from our local public library and found it to be very interesting reading...a variety of actual accounts taken from pension records from all of the colonial militias. The text was recommended to me by someone on this mailing list...greatly appreciated...and I highly recommend it to others who want to get a "feel" for the revolution wartime service of enlisted men and women.
