It has been something in the back of my mind since I took over as administrator. A lot of newbies to the list come looking for something very specific, such as how to find out their great-grandfather's civil war unit. The answers pretty much the same and it can get a little tiring to try and answer them. From what I have seen, people on the list do a great job, but this is a small list and there are not that many of us to keep helping with the same questions. In addition to posting on the web site proposed by Carl, I could also include a tag-line in the messages from the list which would reference it. It possibly could also be included into some of the canned, but generally worthless help messages that the list now kicks out for new subscribers. I can contibute some FAQ material on civil war sources in general, and for NY specifically, but I am not as up to speed on the Revolutionary War. ***** John Clavin | NY-Military-L List Administrator | jjc@bga.com *****
