    3. Have you considered re-starting the group on Facebook?    I belong to several genealogy groups on Facebook and they work just fine.   I don't like the idea of the Ancestry message boards; messages get buried on there and I don't subscribe to Ancestry. -- polly shaw On 1/9/2020 4:07 AM, ny-longisland-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > > > Date: Wed, 8 Jan 2020 09:51:05 -0700 > From: W David Samuelsen <dsam52@sampubco.com> > Subject: ♠[Long Island, NY]♠ Mailing lists on Rootsweb will be > disabled in March 2020 > To: NY Long Island <ny-longisland@rootsweb.com> > Message-ID: <bc678f65-bc57-b7cc-275a-3575ee11bfd9@sampubco.com> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed > > Received this message yesterday evening > > Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb > will be discontinued. 3. Not many like Facebook. One option is Groups.io but I rather join forces with other New York lists admins to determine the best way forward. David Samuelsen, list admin of this list, NYAlbany, NYAlleghany and a few other NY lists.
