In the 1880 census for Pennsylvania, I found the following information on my gggrandfather Anthony Brenner: Anthony BRENNER 41 "tannery worker" Louisa BRENNER 26 Caroline BRENNER 16 Blondina BRENNER 13 Jacob BRENNER 11 Frederick BRENNER 9 Anthony BRENNER 7 Barbary BRENNER 4 Joseph BRENNER 1 The information raises a significant question: Was Louisa the mother of Blondina (my great grandmother, aka Blanche)? Observing the ages, Louisa would have been only 10 when the oldest child was born, and 13 when my great grandmother was born. While this may not be totally impossible, it is at the very least unlikely! Also, all but the youngest child was born in NY. Unfortunately, I do not know where in NY, but my Ggrandmother raised a family on Long Island. I have been searching earlier census', but have not as yet been able to find Anthony and his family. I have also tried a NY directory with inconclusive results. I would really like to establish the true identity of my gggrandmother. Any suggestions?
