    1. Re: Refugees Cox
    2. Hi Linda, Thanks for contacting me. There are no Watts in the index of "Torrey's" nor "Refugees." In the "Refugees of 1776 from Long Island to Connecticut", Samuel Cox is listed as a signer in Brookhaven-June, July, August, 1775. (I believe these were signers who professed allegiance to the local government, instead of England.) The list was sent to Col. Nathaniel Woodhull, Aug. 17, 1775; signed by Richard Woodhull and Samuel Thompson, Committeemen. Additionally, there is a picture on p. 277, which has this information under it. Nathaniel Brewster-"The Planting Ground"-Setauket, L.I. (Loaned by Mr. W.T.Cox) Hope this is of some help. Also, I would appreciate the information on the Cox family that you found. Thanks for any information, Linda
