Hello Listers, The NYS Death Certificate for my GGF says his parents were John Latham b: Long Island and Mary *Fane Latham b: CT. Other documents state that Augustus was born (04Jul1823) in "Brooklyn". *I originally thought his mother's name was Mary Jane but the other "J's" on the DC are unmistakable but her's looks more like an "F". A marriage record would be helpful but I don't have a date. Nor do I know the church affiliation to look for a birth record, and NYS records aren't old enough.
