I guess no one remembers the adage, "If it ain't broken don't fix it." Just another hassle, especially for non daily posters. -----Original Message----- From: ny-irish <[email protected]> To: ny-irish <[email protected]>; irish-american <[email protected]>; new-england-irish <[email protected]>; ontario-Irish <[email protected]>; irish-in-uk <[email protected]> Sent: Sun, Jul 13, 2014 4:02 pm Subject: [NY-IRISH] Rootsweb's new stuff You may have noticed lately that Rootsweb has changed a bit. The changes affects all the Rootsweb mailing lists. All mail now has a "from" or "sender" with [email protected] address (list's name). This is happening whether you're on list or digest version. What this means for you is you cannot tell who sent a message if he/she doesn't sign their message with their name. Additionally, you now CANNOT reply to anything but the list unless you can add a "cc", and put another recipient in the "to" field and the address you want to reply to. Also, you may be able to replace the list address with a different address. However, if you do, your email will not go to the list. So, if you want people to be able to write you off the list: -Always put your name at the end of the message along with your email address. -Use the subject line that reflects what you are answering about. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA, list admin http://www.connorsgenealogy.com ====NY-Irish Mailing List==== Don't forget to check out the NY-Irish mailing list website.
