The Capacity numbers are astounding for these NYC Orphanages! Thank you for posting this. It gives yet another dimension to the cultural milieu in which the Irish and other immigrants were thrown. The orphanages were undoubtedly a tough situation for all involved. Maybe we could use selfless Irish nuns down on our current southern borders. MM
