One of the other things you can't do anymore is page through the manifest to see if there are any other family members traveling with your ancestor, or to see how many died on the way over. It was meant to restrict access and thereby generate revenue. What a surprise they will get. Think of all the other sites that have gone from free to paid, the prices are not comparable to this gouging. Scotland's People which I use a lot asks for 5 euros for documents and you can browse around the indexes and get smart enough to chose the right document. This site makes that impossible. BTW if you have to use the site, the only way is to go through Steve Morse. At least there you can enter a full name and get your person without all the down filtering.
