Pat I have never clicked on a tree name, I click on the persons ancestry ID, that takes me to their profile page where you can email them, It also tells you when was the last time they logged on, so you can tell if that person is a "fly by nighter" or still in research mode. I have 2 people who have all kinds of crazy stuff on their tree that they copied form mine that are NOT the right people/family. Repeated attempts to contact them did no good so I left comments on their tree pages to at least show other folks things are not correct. Many people are no longer getting notifications form ancestry when they get a message or a comment is left (long story, contact me off list if you want the details about why) ... IN MY case, I could find NO way to resolve it, even contacting ancestry did not help as they would not do anything about the one fellow who is going around adding names of all kinds of people to the info from my tree (on his tree) even though those people are not remotely related...he is a "name collector" who is just adding names will nilly, and he is doing it to a LOT of people's tree info... I checked on him via his profile and he is adding names to his trees and documents from other trees, and then he adds anything and anybody he finds with the same last name in the same time period...he adds about 1000 people a week to his tree this way...even though I explained to ancestry he is messing up the database they would do nothing about it except they sent him an email asking him to take my people off his tree which he ignored. Some of these folks just don't give a hoot whether their info is correct or are what I call "2 week wonders" who take the 2 week free offer, slap some names up there and call it done. If you can email me at my other email address ([email protected]) I can send you a snip of the contact place you should be looking for on their page. I cannot do a snip picture through gmail.
