Thanks to my Daniel, who was 12 yo landing in NYC one fine day in Sept 1849, and wise enough to register his Irish townland with Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank, in 1866. Danny boy steered me home to a town that even folks at the local, Irish 7-11 told me did not exist. Located the town on a map I purchased there. Then, someone directed me to turn left after "the derelict pub." I returned from Balyna RC parish in May 2009 with three generations of Baptismals.
