I just received a copy of the death notice from the NY Municipal Archives for my ancestor Robert McGuire, who died in 1854. He was an Irish Catholic who was born in Ireland. The book has a category, following, cause of death for "Cemetery". It has "Williamsburg" listed for him (and several others). I have googled it and have only found a reference to a Methodist Cemetery in Williamsburg. Can anyone tell me what the Williamsburg cemetery would have been.
Google Old Methodist Burial Ground Brooklyn. Bodies buried there were moved to another cemetery and the old cemetery was built over with houses. Try Find a Grave. Deb, I googled 'Catholic cemetery Williamsburg Brooklyn ny' and got this most interesting result for Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, opened 1841. http://www.mhtbrooklyn.org/en_cemetery.htm This related website has the history of this parish-- http://www.mhtbrooklyn.org/ Hope your ancestor is there. Let us know.
