WELL, I DID EXACTLY AS YOU SAID BUT THERE IS NO INFO AS TO MARRIED OR NOT AS THERE WAS ON OLD LIST. IT DID COME UP WITH 8 OR 9 GEORGE LEWIS, BUUT CAN'T OPEN UP TO SEE WHAT ELSE IT SAYS. THIS MAN IS /WAS MY HUSBANDS GRANDFATHER , CAME OVER FROM WITH PARENTS FROM WALES OR GERMANY, HE WAS A SEAMAN APPROX 1855.… SEEMS THERE IS NO OTHER INFO AS THE FAMILY DIDN'T STAY TOGETHER, IF THERE WERE OTHER LEWIS RELATIVES (LEWIS') WIFE MORE INVOLVED WITH HER FAMILY, AND WHEN WIDOWED MOVED WITH HER MOTHER TO NJ. I DON'T SEEM TO BE GETTING ANYWHERE WITH ANYONE….MAYBE I SHOULD JUST CLOSE IT ALL OUT. 49+ YEARS SHOULD BE ENOUGH TRYING TO FIND PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT TO BE FOUND. I WOULDN'T HAVE BOTHERED WITH THE BRUNNER FAMILY BUT I HAD PROMISED SO LONG AGO I FELT GUILTY. THANKS FOR THE ANSWER ..I GUESS THE GERMAN SITE DID THE SAME AND CHNGED. Hi, What the Italian Genealogical Group (www.italiangen.org ) & German Genealogical Group (http://www.germangenealogygroup.com/) sites give you is the a choice of brides, grooms ( all counties various years) or marriages search for a few counties ( Nassau & Suffolk) name, month, year, certificate number, county and if you click on the name under bride lookup it will give you her name. Do you know who he married and approximately when? What county were they living in at the time or in the census year nearest the estimated time of marriage? Or what county was the 1st child born in? These questions are asked just to give us more info to work with.
