Hi Kelly, In the 1900 US Census, did you see his date of birth? General rule of genealogy> work from what you know backwards, >From death, back. The US 1880 census is a good one to search for accuracy. With my tribes, the longer they were in NYC, the more likely the year of arrival was wrong. Also, all of my ancestors, who had Emigrant Bank acts in the "tests" section, proved to give the correct arriving ships and dates.
