Mary Jane Marshall was born in Co. Monaghan approximately 1843. She emigrated to New York approximately 1855 and came through Castle Garden (Castle Clinton). Mary Jane was Protestant; the love of her life was a Catholic, Peter Daly (Daily, Dailey). They could not get married in Ireland so Peter came to New York - also through Castle Garden - approximately 1853. Peter was also born in Co. Monaghan. about 1836. They settled in Goshen, Orange County, New York and had nine children. Peter and Mary Jane are my great grandparents, the parents of my grandmother Margaret Daly Nolan. Marian Fagan McCabe
