The Brooklyn Eagle is now online free from 1841 thru 1955 at http://newsstand.bklynpubliclibrary.org/  I just went to their old site to search a name and the announcement popped up. It must have just happened as I was on the old site the other day.  I have just taken a quick look but there seems to be a better search function, at least for the post-1900 era--time will tell.  But this is fantastic news for all of us with Brooklyn roots. There are a number of new functions, including being able to save to your Ancestry tree, if you have a subscription.  Virginia
