    3. Recently found that my father, James P. McMahon lived and died in Poughkeepsie NY from 1963-1980. Family members tried to locate him with no success. How would I research what he did for those years, work, remarried, children etc. Thank you Anne Marie

    3. Thank you for your reply I appreciate your help. I did send for his SS application and that is how I found him in Poughkeepsie. How do I request the rest of his SS information? Any help would be appreciated.     3. Has anyone here ever traveled to Moira, Franklin County, NY? Is it easy to get to by train or bus? My GGGPs might have lived there from 1850 to 1853 and I'd like to go there and do some research. Clare

    3. The only way to get to Moira is by car. It is a very small town with a store, Motel, hotel, post office and a restaurant/bar on Rte. 11 in Franklin county. At one time the GreyHound bus stopped at the Motel, but that was years ago. You have to take AmTrak to Plattsburg and then drive from there to Moria. Perhaps the Town Offices or the Franklin County Office could help you.
