Seeing the post about the Quarantine Hospital gave me a thought: I've been told that my grandmother traveled from Ireland to New York to cure her TB. This would have been in the late 1890s, I think. I have my doubts about the story but wonder if anyone can think of some way to check it out? The person who told me is the last remaining member of the family and her memory may be flawed, but I'd love to find out.
