    3. It's interesting that the 1860 census taker had that flight of fancy and called Jane Morse a "Clairvoyant Physician." You have to wonder why. Maybe she said to the fellow, "bet I'm the first woman doctor you've counted!" and he thought she was clairvoyant. There were so few woman doctors in those days, I'm sure it was easier for him to think of her as a clairvoyant than an actual doctor. Just speculating!
