Jack, it was Susan Regan who's trying to figure out the church where her gg.aunt, Anna Buckley, married. She sent me two images off-List, both showing the 'clergyman' as Frederic Janes on one and Rev. Frederic Janes on the other. He lists his address as 337 Fourth Ave NYC. After some 'googling', I found that at the time of the marriage (1889) this bldg. housed the studio of James D. Smillie, founder of the NY Etching Club. Reading over some data from different web sites I noticed that this address was also used by several other men associated with Smillie. I don't know that this bldg. would also house a church. It seems more like an apartment bldg. The bldg. is still there apparently, on the corner of Park Ave. S & 25th St. A picture of the bldg. can be seen at the following site. http://cnx.org/content/m19786/latest/ . One of the witnesses at the marriage was a J. Carpenter (Evangelist). Susan had assumed the marriage was Catholic. I don't think so, but I could be way off base on this. Maybe someone on the List can help figure this out for her. Terry, Could you have her send me the image. There was a Catholic church around that time in that area who had a pastor whose name might be mis-read as Janes.
