I thought you might enjoy this little bit of info...it brightened my otherwise dreary, gray and rainy day. While transcribing the 1865 Troy census today I came across an occupation for a Jane Morse. She was listed as 'Doctores(s)'. I needed to verify the surname, so I went to the 1860 US NY census. She's mis-indexed as Moore, but what really fascinated me was her occupation. The census taker must have had a flight of fancy because he has her listed as "Clairvoyant Physician'. By 1870 she's back to just plain 'Physician', but for one brief and shining moment in 1860, she was 'clairvoyant'. You have to love those census takers. Terry Bora in Mich.
