    2. Clare, The New England Geneological Society is an excellent source. It is within walking distance of the main library. There is a fee for using it, but it is well worth the money. I wrote about researching in Boston in Heritage Quest Magazine in about 2003. Even though it's about six years old, see if that helps you a little.
