Anyway, Marriage Licenses, of the bygone era were required from 1908 to 1937. They are on file at the NYC Municipal Archives, 31 Chambers Street, and a very worthwhile search for those of Irish heritage. These were applied for pre-nuptially, and are still required to be married anywhere in New York State.
