Ray, Let me put in a plug for Holy Cross church at 329 W 42nd St., across from the NYC Port Authority bus depot. Still going strong, it is the oldest building on 42nd St. from the East River to the Hudson. One of it's pastors was Fr. Duffy, of Fighting 69th fame, there is a plaque on the outside wall commemorating him. A bit of a walk from 26th St., but things were different then. Jack Langton
