Don't worry about me Pat....... there's more sources than just on line. Now there is a project to transcribe all the County Clare's RC records which is also in coordination with the library. Some parishes are done and online. I am sure you can find more online than you think. You can't expect Kevin to do the research you need, especially when he would have to use the same resources that are found at the library, which you can research for free online. I have been to Ireland a number of times, Kevin, and while there are more sources in your country than what is online, they aren't all together. What is needed by Mary Ann is access to all the RC records and without knowing the area, it is hard to know which parish to look into. Her people emigrated in 1864, the year when civil registration started in your country. So, again Mary Ann needs RC records to piece her family together. I suggested she use the County Clare library so she could use the GV and the Tithe Applotments to find where in County Clare her surnames are found. After that research, maybe she can limit her search to fewer RC parishes. However, McMahon and O'Keefe are fairly common names. In fact, according to MacLysaght, McMahon is the most common surname in County Clare. Also, some RC parish records for County Clare are online at: http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/don_tran/bmd/index_bmd.htm Note the following parishes have been fully transcribed: Feakle, Tubber, plus much more parishes have partial transcriptions. By searching these records, if Mary Ann doesn't find her family, she can eliminate some RC parishes and her search gets narrower. Where are you in Ireland, Kevin? You have a wonderful and beautiful place to live. I am jealous.
