I just got my hands on something that I wish I had when I started out my Irish genealogy research. It is a handy guide written by Brian Mitchell and called, Genealogy at a glance, Irish Genealogy Research. In a nutshell it lists the basics of Irish research and available records and where they can be found. Contents include: Quick Facts, Irish Emigration Background, Unlocking Irish Family History, Record Sources, Census Returns, Record Repositories and Other Online Resource. It is concise, taking only four pages and encased in plastic for durability. Plus, it is reasonably priced.
