They rented out a room to people like me who wanted to stay in the area since there were not hotels there. Anyhow, the man of the house was really nice and took me to places I never would have known about without him. On our outings, he would talk me ear off and we went by someone on the road and he told me that his family ate soup at the local Church of Ireland church during the Famine. I really had never heard about it and he said that people are still holding grudges and a group in the RC Church were trying to get them to forgive. In case any didn't know what Barb was referring to by 'took the soup', now you do. A sad time for Ireland. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com nymets22@gmail.com
