The activist group called "Reclaim the Records" (https://www.reclaimtherecords.org/) filed FOIAs and gained online access to the Index to NYC Marriage Licenses. Wooo wooo!   BACKSTORY: From 1908 to 1951 New York City required couples to apply for PRE-marriage ceremony LICENSES, in person at the marriage bureau.
