Hello Henny, Probably far afield, but I have a Thomas Gleeson (from Boherlahan, Tipperary) who married Ellen Hayes (aka Nelly) in Killenaule, Tipperary in 1835. They had 8 children, 1 of whom went to England, 1 died in infancy in Ireland and the rest emigrated with parents in 1854 - they went to Australia. There's a wealth of Gleeson information at the blog of Maurice Gleeson, who manages the Gleason/Gleeson DNA project. https://www.blogger.com/profile/03920753459154271648 I did the Family Tree DNA autosomal test and that's how I got on to Maurice. I'm confident in saying I know next to nothing about DNA and the project's DNA reports. But if that doesn't interest you, check out the Most Distant Known Ancestor Profiles and Post Your Pedigree sections for more on various Gleeson lines. There's also a link to the Gleeson Genealogy Forum on Facebook. Hope this helps a bit - cheers, Kelly From: "ny-irish-request@rootsweb.com" <ny-irish-request@rootsweb.com> To: ny-irish@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, 17 June 2016, 17:00 Subject: NY-IRISH Digest, Vol 11, Issue 125 Message: 3 Date: Wed, 15 Jun 2016 23:42:27 -0400 From: Henrietta Majeski <oconnortoo@aol.com> Subject: Re: [NY-IRISH] O'Connor, Troy, Gleeson, Hayes, McKearney, Delaney To: "ny-irish@rootsweb.com" <ny-irish@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <201606160342.u5G3gRGj011038@mail.rootsweb.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" O?Connor from Banteer, Co. Thank you. My Mom (née Gleeson) and I have also done the familytreedna for autosomal.and my Mom did Mtdna. My son has done Y, m, and Autosomal I love the Gleeson Dna group; they are extremely knowledgable . Wish some of my male Gleeson cousin's would do it too. My family believes the Gleeson's are from Tipperary but not yet documented. Not sure about the Hayes. My Catherine Hayes married Richard Hotter. Their daughter Henrietta (my grandmother) married my Grandfather John Gleeson. All from Brooklyn NY. The search continued!!
