    3. Hi. Who are your O'Briens. I have a William J. O'Brien (unk - bef. 1890), married to an Elizabeth McGuire (abt 1847 to bef 1890) in New York City. They had children, Philip (1874 - no further record of him) John J. O'Brien (1881-1949) and Alice M. O'Brien (1879-1976). John J. O'Brien was a Catholic priest in New York City and Yonkers. Alice married Peter Leo McDonnell and had two twin sons (Peter and John R). They lived in NYC and she was very active in Catholic charities. Alice and John were orphaned and raised by Bridget Daly Fitzpatrick, their great aunt. John attended a parochial school in NJ, College in Canada, and back to the Seminary in New York. I know nothing about William J. O'Brien except his name, which I got from Alice and John's death certificates. -----Original Message----- From: ny-irish-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ny-irish-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of janjans via Sent: Monday, June 13, 2016 12:11 PM To: NY-IRISH@rootsweb.com Subject: [NY-IRISH] Roll Call O’Brien Connor Armstrong Gillespie Collins Ferguson Murdock A lot of brick walls since they were born and married before the registrations began. 3. Hi Janet, You and I emailed a while ago about DCs and Coroner's Inquests...but I don't know if we ever discussed Gillepie? I have Patrick, who came to Brooklyn around the mid 1850s, and married a Dublin girl named Margaret Agnes McDermott. They had 9 children with a couple of distinctive names. They had Mary and Margaret, Joseph and John, but they also had Isabella, Martin, Isaac, Daniel, and Richard. Following a naming pattern, Patrick's parents may have been Daniel and Isabella. Patrick was a policeman. Most of the sons worked for the railroad, and the wife of one of them worked 25 years as a ticket taker. I don't know where Patrick came over from, but he is listed everywhere as from Ireland, with both parents from Ireland. Any recognition?
