I have just added a number of County Armagh 1841 & 1851 Ireland census records to the County Armagh section of my website. I have over 1,000 records transcribed for the county and will gradually get them online, as time permits. This first group is from Family History Films from the Old Age Pension records. They are indexed by the head of household surname. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento, CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com

Thank you to those on the NY-Irish list who responded on this American day of mourning post. Leslie, may your family find peace. Although I had not been onlist all day, I was amazed that no one initiated this significant topic. Teachers used to say that we are taught history, to avoid the same mistakes. Please remember this day and all of its victims on America's soil. When your children and grandchildren, are old enough to understand, it is vital for us to educate them of the facts of that day, and how its impact is still being felt. Barb
I cannot go down the stairs during a fire drill at work without flashing to that day and i was not in the trade center. I will never forget them! At this moment there is a candle burning on the sidewalk outside my home, something I have done each anniversary of that day and will do every 9-11 for the rest of my life. As far as I'm concerned, even though they say it's "free," they cut you off from the information you want and ask that you subscribe. Not really very up-front of them. My experience was different - they took me straight to the immigration page and a search box and I went right at it. Got the naturalization card for my dad's grandfather, too. Not sure why you got prompted for a card or anything like that but that's not happening to all of us.
