And as I thought, the price rise will occur in every community of the state. For some reason, the state controls that price statewide in all jurisdictions. The new price will be $22. The New York Dept. of Health Vital Records is moving their office on about August 5. If I understood correctly, they are not opening mail as they get ready. I was told that there would be a mail-in grace period of about ten days, meaning that mail that arrives by around August 10 with the old price will be accepted (that date is not certain). Other applications will be returned to the sender. During the grace period, it may depend on what form is used. If the new form you download clearly says $22, they probably won't accept less than that during the grace period.
