Hello, Does anyone know how I might find out who owned the shipping companies on the Hudson during the 1860-1870 time period? Howard Cole __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free, easy-to-use web site design software http://sitebuilder.yahoo.com
Hi Howard, I don't know, but I suppose, based on the way it's done now, that they would have had to register with the NY Secretary of State if it was a stock company. Maybe some registration with a state tax registrar? Anybody else have a better idea? Hi Howard, Maybe the Newburgh, NY Library can help you. Try (http://www.newburghlibrary.org/) "ask a librarian".
