From what I have heard if you have the date of death it is probably quicker to order from Troy. I have ordered many and when I had a specific date, it was basically turn around mail. I have never ordered from the state, however, but have heard that it sometimes takes six months or longer. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton 2002
Pat, I have not only the date of death, but the actual certificate number. I did a look-up yesterday at the National Archives office in New York City. They have fiche of the NY State Index, but not of the certificates. Joy Pat Connors wrote: > From what I have heard if you have the date of death it is probably > quicker to order from Troy.
