Hello List I just found this list and hope someone can point me in the right direction. I am researching Obediah Brown who "from age 14-29 worked as a boatman on the Hudson River. He married Mary Weist in Ulster co, NY." This came from a bio about his grandson who was my ggrandfather. There were at least 3 Obediah Brown's around in that time period (c1830-ish) and it is all very confusing. Have any books or articles been written about boatmen on the Hudson or can anyone suggest resources about boatmen. Apparently the other 2 Obediah's were not boatmen so this could be a way to seperate them. Any help or advice is much appreciated.
