    3. Marita- A family History Center - there are 758 microfilm reels of land transactions for Rensselaer County in the LDS files. Early land transactions may show in Albany county, in Rensselaerwyck Manor records, possibly in Vermont records. You should also be aware that many of the early settlers were tenants rather than owners of land. Many of the early settlers migrated into central and western New York in the 1830's on. If your ancestor inherited the property, probate records may show the acquisition. A deed for the property may have not been recorded until it was sold, if owned, to a nonfamily member. It may have been bounty land for military service. ----- Original Message ----- From: riti Sent: Friday, April 18, 2003 4:19 PM To: NY-HUDSONRV-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [HudsonRV] Re: NY-HUDSONRV-D Digest V03 #48 Where would one find the early land transactions 1800-1810 of the Renssealer Land, in Berne Township? John Furman is on the 1800-1810 Census for Berne. So where might I find the documents where he received his land and any sales? I haven't been able to find his death information either.
