    1. [HudsonRV] Burials in Old New York City - 2 Marble Cemeteries

    3. Dear Rod, The Marble Cemeteries are more remarkable than you think: there are two of us: 1. New York Marble Cemetery, aka Second Avenue Cemetery, most burials 1830-1870, last burial 1937 but still available for its families, at www.marblecemetery.org . All interments are listed on line. 2. New York City Marble Cemetery, most burials 1831-1870, but still burying about one person every year or two, at www.nycmc.org . Records before 1844 were burned, but later interments are listed on line. Both cemeteries are above Second Street and across Second Avenue from each other. What could be more confusing?! We (NYMC, not NYCMC) will be open to the public on Sat. & Sun, May 3 & 4, 12-4 p.m. Please come downriver and visit. Happy Easter - Anne * * * * * * Anne W. Brown, Trustee NY Marble Cemetery www.marblecemetery.org
