After ten years of work/research, I narrowed my great grandfather's death date down to between 1925-1930 through searching the all censuses of Troy NY from 1905 to 1930. A friend who lives near Albany looked at the fiche in the Archives building (Heath Dept) and found the below: James P. O'Conner, dod Jan 16, 1926, Albany James Connors, November 3, 1928, Troy (mine) James J. O'Connor, May 1, 1928, Watervliet James Connors, January 2, 1929, Troy James H. Conners, February 12, 1929, Watervliet James O'Conner, December 17, 1929, Albany James P. O'Conner, February 17, 1929, Troy James Connors, January 23, 1930, Troy James Connors, November 13, 1930, Watervliet James O'Connor, March 25, 1930, Schenectady It is amazing so many with basically the same name, living in the same area, died within 5 years of each other. Maybe, this info will help someone else besides me. Today I sent away my great grandfather's death certificate which will hopefully give me his parents' names. If so, I will have proof to either validate or negate my assumptions. If not, since I also was sent his obit from the Troy Record, I found a sister living in Albany at the time of his death that I didn't know about. So, I will look for her marriage and death date and send for her records if I need to...and the hunt goes on. Another interesting twist, I found one of my grandfather's brother still alive. Family lore had him dead before 1920. So, need to rethink that one. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton 2002
