First of all, I see that I had two numbered 42, should be 42 and 42a. Then I had two numbered 43, should be 43 and 44. Sorry if this caused any confusion, I am out of practice...but getting into the groove again pretty quickly. I now have years Aug 1853 through Dec 1856 on line and Oct 16 to Dec 1884 on line. You can access them from the URS under my name, under New York State, click on Troy, they are under Naturalizations. I also have them on the Rensselaer County website at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyrenss2/ There are two ways from the home page to access the records. First under Genealogy, click on Naturalization/Citizenship or under Cities choose, Troy. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com Professional Genealogy Research All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton 2002

Joyce, I was interested in your post since I see you are researching GREEN in the northeast. I am doing the same. I just wondered if we might intersect somewhere, although I don't recognize your other names. My ggrandfather was Francis Green. I have not found his family of origin. He came from England. He is in Newark, New Jersey in the 1850 census. This is the earliest I find him. He is single there and in his very early 20s. He married my ggrandmother in 1855. She was from Poughkeepsie. They settled there, had their children there and lived in that area for many years. I am researching the possibility that he had other family members in the same general area. He served in the Civil War. I have obtained NY state Civil War records for several Greens that signed up with him. I am sending for a whole slew of pension records from that war, a few at a time. All of them look like potential relatives. I recently sent for three of them, one was John L. Green. This family eventually ended up in Fairfield, CT. I believe they already had relatives there. If any of this interests you, let me know. We have now transcribed the first 260 of 464 pages of the Yonkers 1870 federal census. I have started getting them on line and so far have the first 7 of 34 files formated and uploaded. I hope to complete it all today. These pages include 10,228 individuals, 1,656 dwellings and 2,035 families. Thanks should be given to the transcribers: June Howard, Mary Hoar and Carol Lofton. Without their dedication, this wouldn't be possible. you can access the census at the URL under my name. Under New York State, click on Yonkers and that will bring you to the Yonkers webpage of my website. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com Professional Genealogy Research All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton 2002
