    3. Tim, I think that 1830 would be a bit early for any locality to be named "Station". If memory serves, it was 1829 when the first railroads in the US appear -- and they were largely local, generally built for a specific purpose. I can't offhand come up with any other technology that might require stations. Also, the "Shyloto" doesn't sound remotely familiar. I can't even begin to guess the derivation of the name. Sorry! This spelling is how they heard it, which is likely not the way it would be spelled, if it exsisted at all - Shyloto Station, Chenango County. Does anyone have thoughts on this?
