I too have family that moved through New York on their way to Minnesota. Asa Woodruff moved from CT to Canaan, Columbia Co., NY with his wife Betsey Darron and their child Brock Woodruff was born there in April 1816, along with several brothers and sisters (Betsey 1804, Lydia, Sarah,1802, Ann Eliza 1800, John Darron 1819, Corelius 1809, Chloe, Ruth, Daniel 1822, Henry, 1821, Margaret 1825). Some years later the family moved back to CT. Then Brock decided to move back to NY with his young bride Chloe Amanda Benedict. Their son Leroy Benedict Woodruff was born in Lysander, Ononodaga Co., NY. By 1857 the entire family is in Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN. Jo
