Dear Marilyn, That phrase seems to have been in common usage in wills-way back in our country. If someone thinks the phrase has any legal connotations--please write in about it. Otherwise, it may just have been social phraseology or a ' nicety ' among family or well-known friends to use when leaving some'gift' of whatever sort to another person.
