    3. Wow! Nineteen years! Thanks for all of your work and contributions!! -----Original Message----- From: Timothy Stowell via <[email protected]> To: nymadiso <[email protected]>; nychenan <[email protected]>; nycortla <[email protected]>; ny-centra <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, Nov 11, 2015 12:04 am Subject: [NY-CENTRAL] Educational Institutions / Biographies / other stuff Madison County - The 1899 history of Madison county's chapter on Educational Institutions including Colgate University, Cazenovia Seminary among others was placed on line on the 8th - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nymadiso/1899-24.htm very interesting read on the institution now known as Colgate. Chenango County - A couple of biographies added this evening for the surname Willard with several generations mentioned. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nychenan/1898bios.htm - plus a new format, that lines up better as the book actually presents the table of bios available. Cortland County - A reader informed me of an email address change for the Cortland County Historical Society, so while I fixed that I've also placed a link to the Society off the page Vicky had set up years ago. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nycortla/ The web site is now set up to index every two weeks automatically, which means I don't have to manually do it. I get a weekly report of searches done on the site. This same scenario will also be put in place for Chenango and Madison counties, when I next add material to their sites, of which I have scads. As my own family came from the eastern counties and settled in central New York and then moved back and forth across the borders around Lebanon, Georgetown, Otselic, Smyrna, Truxton and other places, history was created that spilled over boundaries - as I'm sure some of this may have happened with your family as well. I've been doing this online gig for nearly 19 years. I doubt I have another 19 years to finish what I'd like to put online - being as I've adopted other New York counties and counties elsewhere, as material has fallen into my lap - so if you have interests in any of these places, perhaps something there will spark your interest - listed in the order I adopted them in each state - New York - Chenango, Madison, Cortland, Sullivan, Broome, Dutchess (co-host), Orange. Tennessee - Hamilton, James Wisconsin - Richland (some of my NY family went there); Crawford, Dane Minnesota - Wilkin, Yellow Medicine, Traverse, Ramsey, Chisago Georgia - Coweta, Chatham, Hancock, Troup, Walker, Forsyth, Evans North Dakota - Richland, Pierce, Traill, Golden Valley, Logan, McIntosh, Benson, Cass, Dunn, Hettinger, Slope, Cavalier. I host an independent site for leftovers including some of these above. While it may seem to be a lot of counties - 35.5 - realize that Hamilton County, TN has more people than the whole state of North Dakota as likely Broome County does a close number as well. Thus I'm riding a circuit around the counties posting material. One issue I discovered with the 1899 history of Madison is that my scanner was reading 2s as 3s so that I had to manually check every number - which leads to long sessions and bleary eyes! May you folks have happy hunting. Tim ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Need to contact me?
