Hi - I'm guessing the place name came from a hand-written death certificate, as I only see as a place of birth for one person (Benjamin Head Clark), when I googled it. It'd be interesting to see the actual document that listed it - maybe it was a misinterpretation of handwriting? But then... I just googled Benjamin Head Clark, and Find-A-Grave has him as being born in Indiana... Just a guess... perhaps it was a "Way Station" such as used in the days of traveling by stagecoach.
