Looking for where in Canada he was born. DOB 1838 , Father William, Mother Elizabeth Thank you
Looking for a marriage certificate/date for Mathew Gregory Moriarty b Halifax Nova Scotia Canada 1869 s/o Timothy & Catherine (Sullivan) Moriarty. According to the 1910 US Census Matthew immigrated in 1901 I have also been able to find: 1. Matthews Declaration of Intention dated 9 Jul 1908 showing his residence as 1321 St John Place and working as a Compressed Air worker. 2. Petition for Naturalization 1915 residing at 521 Gates Ave. 3. Oath of Allegiance dated 1916 and residing at 1150 Teller Ave. I had requested a records search for a marriage from the Family Records Dept in NY city and was advised to check the German and Italian groups marriage searches for a number which I have done without any success. I am wondering what to do next ... Mathew is shown in the 1910 US Census Borough of Brooklyn residing at 828 St. Johns Place with wife Rose and Rose having immigrated in 1900 and they were married for 2 yrs. – Rose’s maiden name unknown Ancestry shows Rose’s maiden name as LaPierre but no records to substantiate the claim. Also Mathew died 9 Oct 1918 at home 1150 Teller Ave, The Bronx and would very much like to find a death notice or obituary for him Any assistance with the maiden name of Rose/marriage certificate for Matthew and Rose about 1907-1909/or death of Matthew would be appreciated Thank you Pat
Have you tried the Family Search website? They have many Canadian records and it is a free site. Canada has some great records from birth/baptism to death records and censuses. > I don't know where my Irish ancestors landed in Canada. Hit a brick > wall. I have a brick wall. George Peter Merrill was born in Canada according to census data. His DOB 24 Feb 1829. His Parents were Nathan Merrill and Esther Biethelez according to the Assumption of Mary Parish Record when George was baptized in 1861 prior to marriage. Nathan and Esther were born in New Hampshire also according to census data. There are several Nathan & Esthers in New Hampshire none of which can I find residing in Canada in 1829 nor having a child George. George married Mathilde Plantier born in Canada in St. Edward Naperville Quebec but they were married in Redford NY at the Assumption of Mary Parish. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I'm retiring at the end of the month and can spend more time researching. Candis

This is a reminder. This list has not had any activity in quite awhile. It could mean, we all have filled in our Family Trees, or it could mean, we have found other ways to help us, or maybe we are just not interested in genealogy anymore. However, there are probably many members of these lists that maybe just gave up looking. So, what I am suggesting is to those who already have filled their trees up, maybe sending an post about /how /you filled up your trees would help others find the help they needed to unlock some of their genealogical mysteries. -- Pat Connors, list owner http://www.connorsgenealogy.com

I have updated the NY-CAN-NY mailing list this week. By mistake, I lost the M-Z section to the ozone. I cannot tell you how upset I was but luckily I could recover the section from the Wayback Machine. However, they stopped at 2013, so those surnames added between 2013 and this week are lost and I am so sorry if yours was in that group. However, if you send me a new one I will get it online again. I will be updated those re-submitted daily as I receive them. Again, I apologize to those whose names I lost. -- Pat Connors http://www.connorsgenealogy.com NY-Can-NY NYNewYork ny-rollcal
Hi Pat, Yes, I have a tree on Family Search, I also use MyHeritage and Ancestry. The first generation of this family was exceptionally silent about their connection to Ireland and all my cousins have said the same. No one ever talked about it. My information comes from church records, census data and city directories, etc. I just keep hoping that some information will get digitized that will be helpful. Ship records into Hartford are few and far between on line. I really appreciate the way people have come out with suggestions. This purge the lists has been a good thing for me.
