I called the Washoe county clerks office and now a marriage license is good for one year from date of issue. The lady I talked to was not old enough to probably know if a 4 year period in 1914 was OK. Their phone number is 775 328 3274 and their web site is: www.co.washoe.nv.us/clerks. Is is possible they got the first license then not got married then came again and got a new one 4 years later? Of course the actual dates in August are only 2 days different but 4 years apart.
